THE NEW ALM

A STUDY IN REDUCTION

The New ALM

a study in reduction

A decade of refinement distilled into a single saddle.

Rooted in the original ALM’s leaf‑spring concept and shaped by Project HALO’s research into the latest aerospace developments, the final design applies those insights to place material only where performance demands it. The rear wrap‑around unibody delivers targeted stiffness and a suspended, compliant ride within a clean, timeless silhouette.Yet, preserves that unmistakable, suspended leaf spring feel that defined the original.

Welcome to the evolution.

Design: Yannick Lange & Ian Redfern

The ultimate rider-machine interface

The soul of the ALM lies in its synthesis of advanced materials and ride dynamics. By integrating HALO rear construction, we deliver targeted stiffness reinforced only where necessary, preserving the iconic suspended leaf-spring design that defines its character.

This carbon unibody construction, paired with lightweight EVA and a microfibre cover, transforms the original aerospace-inspired innovation into a refined reality. Every curve and filament placement serves a purpose: to deliver a ride that is faster, smoother, and more thrilling. At just 145 grams, it is the ultimate expression of our mission to improve the cycling experience through pioneering, forward-thinking product design

a classic evolved

We know we had massive shoes to fill. The ALM is over a decade old and is known for its timeless design, delivering advanced performance, low weight, and unprecedented comfort.

We did not want to replace a classic, but evolve it. We kept its timeless design and solved modern saddle issues from the inside, ensuring we never compromised the clean aesthetic on the outside.

Cutting-edge technology

We began iterating using a process called Tailored Fiber Placement, or TFP for short. Outside the National Composites Centre, very few people in the world even have access to this technology.

Derived from Formula 1, TFP allows us to stitch continuous fiber exactly where we need it. It’s an incredible tool for mapping out structural demands, giving us complete flexibility for quick prototyping and testing different configurations.

Stiff where you need it

We discovered that connecting the rear rails into a single unibody structure gave us unprecedented rigidity. It completely neutralized the upward pivot flex when driving power through the wings. Giving the rider sustainable and predictable comfort when pushing the pace. We dubbed this the HALO design creating compliance exactly where you need it.

Flex where you want it

We understand that creating a stiff base meant finding a new way to deliver comfort at the rails. We adjusted the wing geometry to curve naturally downwards, preserving the unmistakable leaf-spring compliance at the rails while locking the base solid. This innovative architecture delivers unprecedented comfort on a saddle that maintains a simple, timeless design while remaining the ultimate lightweight option

Engineered for every rider

The ALM delivers peak performance and ergonomic comfort in all riding positions. Available in two distinct variants, the ALM:HALO and ALM:HALO ERGO, it utilizes an ultra-thin base and signature HALO rear construction for immense structural integrity. This advanced architecture provides unwavering sit-bone support and natural compliance, eliminating the need for a traditional cutout for many riders. Because the contact point between body and bike is deeply personal, the ERGO features a precision-engineered base cutout for targeted pressure relief. We preserve a simple, continuous design by applying the same seamless microfibre topper across both models, subtly indicating the hidden ERGO cutout via the Fabric logo. This highly functional surface protects against road spray, delivering a versatile, premium ALM tailored to every ride.
